The Donna Shepard Running Club is for any student who enjoys running or wants to improve their fitness level. We will meet after school on Tuesdays from 4:15- 5:15 throughout the year. All students who participate must have their own transportation home and be picked up by 5:15 p.m. If it is raining or too cold, we will usually have indoor running club. There may be sometimes when we have to cancel and students will be expected to have transportation home. This is sometimes a last minute decision, so please be flexible. If we cancel running club, I will have it on the announcements that morning.
If any parents are interested in participating with us, you are always welcome. Siblings can only participate if their parents stay with them at all times. Tennis shoes are required so students who are not dressed in fitness attire with proper running shoes will not be allowed to stay for running club. All participants are encouraged to bring water bottles.
This club is open all year for joining, but students must complete a permission slip.
I look forward to working with the students and helping them to learn the importance of lifetime fitness. I hope this program will encourage some to consider joining cross country or track teams in middle school. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions about running club. Please make sure the permission slip is turned in before participating.
